Research Director

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the CMO, this position is the thought leader in the area of Media Measurement and Management and multi-channel marketing with a proven understanding of newer media platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop innovative research methodologies.
  • Fulfillment of research agenda including: written research notes, strategic analysis reports, presentation content, client briefings, and consulting engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry metrics and supervise related field work and audience projections.
  • Represent research findings at conferences, client consulting engagements and to the media.
  • Work collaboratively with other analysts to develop and brand original methodologies for measuring media performance.
  • Manage a research team.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 10 years of experience as a senior research professional reporting directly to a CMO or SVP/VP. This experience should include research, strategic planning, performance measurement and management, financial justification, business process/project management and vendor relations.
  • Expert experience with measurement planning and research for media.
  • Familiarity with media intelligence, industry analysis and reporting sources such as: TNS, Nielson, Simmons, Mendehlsohn, Forrester and others.
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree / MBA preferred.
  • A professional "can do" outlook and the ability to partner with other functional groups.


Brand Activation Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the CMO, this position is responsible for the strategy and development of innovative marketing initiatives that promote Captivate's clients' brands across North America. The Brand Activation Manager partners with Corporate Marketing as well as third party vendors to design and develop a wide range of innovative promotions (e.g. events, roll-outs, sweepstakes, contests, etc.) that add value to clients' brand management and advertising programs and support Captivate's business development efforts to accelerate sales cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with vendors to create and implement highly creative and high-impact promotional events that create brand awareness and support clients' and Captivate's business development, advertising and building sales goals.
  • Conduct the needs assessment of Captivate's clients and develop the strategy and business rules needed for value-add programs.
  • Manage third party vendor relationships in order to deliver innovative brand activation promotions that generate measurable results.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and client marketing teams and with key business stakeholders to deliver high quality execution and results.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and relationships with third party vendors as well as other vendor partners.
  • Manage project planning, budget management, ROI measurement, reporting with timely and effective communications.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A relevant college degree - an MBA is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of relevant marketing experience that includes campaign and event management using integrated media, including digital, direct and print and an understanding of media planning and market segmentation. Experience in an integrated marketing agency that includes managing budgets, vendors and clients, is preferred.
  • Excellent campaign management, planning, program development and measurement skills.

Director of Business Development

We are always looking for exceptional senior level business development professionals to join our New York City, Toronto, Chicago or Westwood, CA regional sales offices to grow Captivate's innovative narrowcast media services business -- rare opportunities to create unique and new business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The majority of effort will be to develop new business by seeking out advertising clients and agencies, and to a lesser extent, to generate renewal or incremental business from existing Captivate clients.
  • Design and implement, in conjunction with our marketing team, integrated sales programs to successfully close advertising campaigns.
  • Develop sales strategies to increase market share by working with our marketers and media programmers.
  • Bring in Blue Chip national advertisers from diverse industries -- entertainment, financial, technology and travel, to name just a few.
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals by initiating creative media programs and partnering with other regional sales executives to coordinate joint business opportunities.
  • Focus on major account development with network-wide advertising potential.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience that includes advertising sales, or selling any place-based, Out-Of-Home, emerging or alternative media.
  • In-depth involvement in marketing and strategic business development, preferably in the non-traditional, out-of-home media space.
  • The ability to work directly with potential clients and accompanying agencies throughout the region.

  • The primary focus will be to design and produce network advertising for third party clients from conception through design to completion.
  • Other duties include ad compression, flash animation, archiving media, web graphics and print collateral.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
